Dear Club President,
Wisconsin again has the chance to show off our State to the Lions of the USA and Canada at the 2010 Milwaukee Forum. As hosts, we will be responsible for working with the Planning Committee on all aspects of planning the Forum; then during the Forum we will provide manpower (over 400 volunteers) to ensure that attendees feel welcome and have a great experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to shine in the eyes of the Lions, Lioness, and Leo’s outside of Wisconsin and raise some money to support our statewide projects.
The Host Committee is already in place and holding organizational and sub-committee meetings with plans for a number of fundraisers including:
· a series of Road to Milwaukee collector pins (the first will be ready for sale yet this fall) · a raffle that will feature a Harley donated by the Milwaukee Convention & Visitors Bureau
So even more than two years out, great plans are in the works, but we face one major challenge... seed money. We won’t see any revenue from the Harley raffle until after next year’s Forum and from pin sales until late this year. In the meantime, the Host Committee will incur expenses that cannot be deferred.
As with the last time we hosted the Forum, we are looking to raise $20,000 to help defray Host Committee expenses. We are asking clubs make donations of $25 - $50 - $100 or more that will be used for this purpose with any left over funds being donated back to State projects.
Donations should be made out to and sent to:
2010 USA/Canada Forum Host Committee c/o PDG Gary Colton, Treasurer 40 Lallier Lane Fond du Lac, WI 59437
For more information about the Road to Milwaukee check out www.milwaukeeforum.org. If you have any questions about the Forum don’t hesitate to contact me at 920/261-7289 or dhent@charter.net.
Thanks in advance for your support.
Mark Hintzmann, PCC 2010 USA/Canada Forum Host Committee Chair
The Forum’s mission is to develop leaders, motivate and educate attendees, provide an open exchange of ideas, and support programs and goals of Lions Clubs International.
